Post by: rollin72 on January 09, 2013, 10:35 PM
what kind of stamp would a early 80's GT layback have, just got 1 but the stamp doesnt look right, is this a late/early 90's stamp?

I ain't no expert Gaz but that isn't a early 80's stamp imo

I have a set of early performer bars and a early GT seatpost and they both have this stamp on ....

I was lead to believe that the coin stamping is from 1985. There are many variations on bars, Coin with Knurling, Coin without Knurling, Knurling without Coin etc...

The early 80 - 84 bars are unstamped but some are unstamped with a single strip of knurling.

I was also lead to believe that the block lettering came in around 92 onwards.

Is that right  :-\

I dont think Terry is referring to the initial inquiry but rather the info stated by Neil.
