Was well chuffed when I scored this on here from 58delray. Very nice to deal with and very helpful too :daumenhoch
Not finished yet but wanted to post some pics and hopefully get some more advice from you guys on the final parts needed :)

Been a bit of a slow build as I got sidetracked with another two frame and forks set :idiot2: But this is what I have added so far:

I have a set of comp 3 copy tires and that is about it at the moment. Was thinking black alloy hubbed tuffs or gold wheels (never had anything but tuffs so dont know much about wheels)
and a set of gold mx1000 calipers (not repros or copies want original if poss). Some price guides on these would be much appreciated :daumenhoch:
I also need to thank meticulous for setting up the deal and scortcher mick for the bars. Rest was bought on the bay and bmxmuseum.com

tuff neck, pro neck would look better :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:

Gotta be Tuffs on a Quadangle i'd say.
You may struggle finding gold MXthous though as they're thin on the ground tbh. Silver, chrome or polished would be eaiser to find i'd say but getting the colour right is critical so your choice. Either way you're looking at least a ton for a set of ok ones, rising more on a crazy scale the closer to NOS you go. Of course then you need a big deep wallet.....
-
That stem cost me £50 quid from America :) I love it whats the deal? I had it in mind that the calipers were going to be about £100 and I am alright with that. Dont want to put any repro stuff on this build though, I want it all old school if poss.
Cant afford a pro neck in red and thinking about it and roughly have a limit of £120 for any one item, which should be ok. :daumenhoch:
-
yes i'd put a gold tuf neck on it.... ;D

It's a 90's stem, so kind of looks out of place on an old school build - but it's your build mate, and if you like it - go with it :)
-
Nice to see it in its other original states :) They both look absoloutly sweet. Whats the gold stem going to cost me? I have to say that my monthly budget is totally blown, so might be a while before I spend anymore :-\
Cant say which I prefer between the tuffs and the gold wheels, its a tough (no pun intended) one. appreciate the feedback :daumenhoch:
-
Ahh a 90's stem. Thanks for that. I have a lot to learn still about bmx's. Never had one as a kid, but am trying to make up for it now though :) I have always just chose my favourite colour schemes, by looking loads of pics and gone from there :)

This is for sale on the museum buddy >>>
(http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j406/Londonhellboy/009_copy412_lg.jpg)
$127 for the stem = £80 plus $15 shipping = £10 £90 total and well worth it :daumenhoch:
-
Cheers guys. Wardy on here has offered me a gold one for £90, but just dont have the cash at the moment :-\ Looks ike this bike has had a few coats of paint in its time :daumenhoch: Anyone know what the original finish was? :)
-
Nice frame set. It looks like it has the hole for a Pitbull brake on the chain stay, behind the bottom bracket. late 80s early 90s. Fling the bars, they belong in the 70s ;)

Cheers chaps :daumenhoch: I am sure I was told it was an 85 or 86 frame set. Cant remwmder exactly now though. Meticulous will know for sure as it was his at some stage :daumenhoch: I am going to go for black alloy tuffs or black z rims I think.
I appreciate all your comments and will keep you posted :) Might change those bars and stem I guess at somepoint :daumenhoch:
