Title: ID "Patterson" frame according SN
Post by: pedestrian on May 18, 2012, 07:25 AM
Hi oldschool nerds,

have a frame at hand. Dude told me it´s supposed to be a Patterson, bought in 89 or 90.
No pickies yet, but SN there. It´s: 2860929 P on the left dropout/outside

Some experts here who can prove the theory of a Patterson with the SN?

cheers

hmm.. helps a bit.
frame was bought end 80s/beg 90s, but was old stock from a BMX shop. Mate got it cheapo you know.

will post pics this weekend. frame is cromo and with rather mint welds from first sight. dropouts look like a Patterson from which i´ve seen on here RAD and the museum. but no stamp or anything. anyway pretty sure its no noname,... but i´m no os expert.

will come back with pics.

Wow, that is weird!  That is the 1st Patterson I've seen with that style head tube and without the brace behind the bottom bracket.  Those drop outs and the date stamp is definitely Patterson from all the ones I've seen and owned.  I currently own one with a smooth head tube, not stepped like all the others.  Mine came directly from one of the Patterson brothers, I only live an hour or so from where they live.  Here's a pic of mine, some of you have probably....

:2funny:  That is probably a GT head tube, GT was building the Patterson's at the time so it's totally possible.

I remember this frame or one like it. It's a dyno that are also built by GT just like the Patterson PR series but lets face it, It's made with left overs of the Patterson's that GT must have had lying around the factory. There is a picture of one out there. I'll have a look for it.
