Right folks. I'm starting this thread for all radsters that have a Hoffman condor. From a gen 1 in 1992 to an anniversary 2012 model. Get your pics up of this iconic bike from the last 20 years. I know a few of you have Hoffman collections and some have the new 2012 model. Like me.
I want to use this thread as an inspiration for my condor build. :) :daumenhoch:

Nice :daumenhoch: I'll get a pic up of My 2012 with My other Condors when it stops raining!
-
Great pics egg. I have seen your 2012 condor pics several times. But only just noticed its left hand drive. Lol
I've got to say that Hoffman did a pretty good representation of the original frame. With a new school geo and vibe. :daumenhoch:
-
i love it.just wish they had made forks too but i'm going to get mine powdered blue and probably switch the bars for chrome.it'll look a bit similar to how my gen 1 looked bitd.

Blooming heck look how big the tubing is on that 96! You kind of forget until you see them side by side. I love them both. Lovehandles on the 96 :smitten:
I also like the black rims etc on the blue 2012. It's a great match. :daumenhoch:
-
Actually upon closer inspection they are not lovehandles. They are the 2nd generation of Hoffman low drags. :smitten:
-
I :smitten: lurve these postal blue Condors (old and new) lovely jubbly.

a few pics of me riding my gen1 20 years ago.

Great pics. How much did you sell the cracked frame for?
-
over the last few years i've had a few people ask me if it was for sale, i never planned on selling it but realised it was too much work for me to restore and i couldnt find forks or bars for it. a guy off o here found out i had one and asked me if it was for sale, i told him to make me an offer. he offered £400 for it and i sent him the frame and anything that i still had that was original to the bike, so he got a tnt stem, odyssey pedals, part of a havok sprocket pocket and a couple of other bits for it. he sent me pics of the repairs and the rechrome and it looked brand new.
-
nice pics john you don't mess about nice moves :daumenhoch:
-
a few more i've owned over the years.this is by no means all as i've had one of every model even if it was just a change of decals :idiot2: but these are the only pics i have left.
94 probably my favorite until i ripped the headtube off!

Looking good poggy! :daumenhoch:

Got to admit they are a lovely bike.
When i 1st started coming on here and looking through old threads Fuzzynod marks totally blew me away. That was more like a phoenix than a condor. :coolsmiley:

2006! Doesn't time fly?
-
Was gonna get one of these for Christmas, wish I did now... ::)
-
I have seen a thread on here on when the frames were released, does any know or can confirm the numbers distributed to/in the UK ? 12 of each (blue and chrome) in 1 size and 6 of each in the other size ?
-
me on my 92 condor, southsea skatepark in the morning before king of concrete, i fell off on a toothpick on vert and went stright over the bars, my friend Pill then used my bike for his run, backfliped and the forks ripped clean off the headtube...bye bye forks... Great pics. :4_17_5: :daumenhoch:
The first Hoffman forks were a bit dodgy as the head tube was so thin. That soon got changed to a thicker gauge tube. :)
I find it strange how this wasn't picked up by Matt. As he had been riding them hard for a while. ???
-
i used to run zima forks after...............think they had the same problem, the forks themselves were way strong as were the zima forks but the stearing tube was the problem.......

Only the first ones made in Taiwan, I thought ???

The first ones were made in the states by se racing. Then Hoffman started to make them themselves in the ramp room factory. But that was only for a while as production costs were so high. So eventually production went to Taiwan.

plus it didn't help having such a laid back head angle.
