Post by: cortone on February 16, 2012, 09:22 PM: Thought I would stick up a thread for my soon-to-built Holmes... not sure on the year (anyone able to shed some light?)

I bought the frame, black redneck & solid headset from a nice chap in the States for a princely £70 plus £25 P&P... :daumenhoch:
It is by no means NOS or even near to mint but the decals are all OG as are the dropouts and there is no dings, only superficial scrapes.
The reason for it being in such good nick could well have to do with the fact that person who owned it prior to the seller was (purportedly) S&M's own Matt Berringer. I have not been able to verify this through any pics of the 2 together but the guys had no real reason to lie about it.
I would love to locate a picture of him riding it. If I ever came to sell :2funny: it would certainly add to the authenticity. Anywho enough words. Excuse the shoddy pix, my HTC Wildfire is without a doubt the shite-est phone I have ever had the displeasure of using. So these were taken on wifeys nokia. :coolsmiley:

Anyone got any suggestions of parts for the build. It will be rider, though maybe not daily. Will try and get more pix, if anything anyone would like to see lemme know!

*EDIT* Just had a slightly scary thought...is it one of the repops that were done around 09??

*EDIT 2* Phew, think it is original, seems the reissue was only in chrome & yellow. Anyone?

Probably around 96/97

As Dordy says Alex would know for sure... :daumenhoch:

Yeah as Kev said it is 1 & 1/8 and 22.2 seat post... nice one guys that is all good, I will now have to start piecing it together! :daumenhoch:

My buddy got that same frame in white with the exact same stickers brand new back in 1999.
