Title: ACS Pedals - 1/2 to 9/16 Conversion (now with Axle Pictures)
Post by: punkdSICO on October 12, 2011, 09:42 PM
Hi all

I just got some lovely ACS Stoker 1/2 pedals but, I need them to be 9/16.  Any hot tips on some cheap axles I can get hold of for the conversion?  I recently swapped some Shinamo SX axles using some £12 Halfords axles so maybe some knows of a ACS axle?

Here are the ACS axles:

Hi Adam

Yeah, they are the Stoker pedals.  These ones in fact:

A lot of pedal axles are interchangeable across manufacturers, best thing to do is strip one down and have a look at the axle and maybe post a pic to see if they match any other makes  :daumenhoch:

Paul, I'm sure shimano spindles fit into those stoker peds matey  :daumenhoch: That means Victors, GT's and Mongoose flat ped spindles would also fit  :coolsmiley:

Don't go for the real cheap peds as they are not chromoly spindles and libel to snap on you  :-\

Hi all - I just posted some axle pics in the original post (top of thread)..

Hi Tj - I just tried this but my SX spindles did not fit as they were too short (120mm verses 130mm for the ACS pedals).  Another 5mm and it would have been enough for the nut to grab..

Anyone??  I'm despro for some ACS pedal, love action!!

Paul

Hi all - polite bump. Im still looking for 9/16 axles for some ACS pedals.  Im pretty sure any axles will do providing they are 130mm long (SX axles are 120mm, for example).

Anyone??

Paul

not sure if you can get the right size/pitch but what about a helicoil or timesert in the crank arm to convert it to 1/2"?
