Post by: glenboy on April 30, 2011, 12:51 AM
i had my black pk on skinny wheels a while ago and liked it then swapped and changed as you do and never really liked it on any of the other wheels i put it on, then got this ball burnished ripper and transferred the parts over off the black one which with this all being blue silver with a bit of black matched better

this was how it was

There's lots of items on that 'Weapon' that could be changed before the drill needs to come out to lighten it up.

But it is a very nice looking bike as it stands ;)

i wouldn't mind trying some race forks on it as the landing gears weigh a ton ,   :smitten: bottema race forks  would be nice :smitten: :smitten:

yep we love it its the first time i've sold anything and i've had to force myself , well other half permanantly moaning "what you frikkin doing with all these kids bikes round da house ya weirdo" etc also helped, the black one was really nice i just didn't have the right colour components to do it right , it was the old multi colour swap shop going on as you said and there was no way i wasn't using my dx cranks  :smitten: on it

Are they red alloy hubed skyways on that Haro  ???

no and yes peter........ they are steel hubbed square flange ones really early i reckon 80-81 with coaster and just the serial number on the rim only says skyway on the hub itself  in really nice order as well

Think the haro would look better with some spoke's on rather than Skyways.....

LOL just about to ask the same question  :LolLolLolLol:

Does look light now Glen  8)  Get her on the scales  :D

Not much you can lose now though  :-\

Lighter seatclamp ? Hare lever ? 890 caliper drilled out ?

Maybe an addicks chainwheel or a thin shimano chainwheel and 3/32 chain ;)

Maybe drop the chainwheel size and freewheel size too  >:D

But we're scratching there - it loooks pretty bloody light to me !!!!  ;D

Thanks a lot yeh you never know how its going to turn out till you do it , i'll have to find some scales and weigh it tomorrow other half hasn't got any in house  :LolLolLolLol:, what would make the main difference weight wise now would be the forks i'd  as the lgs are bleedin heavy but unless it was some wicked race forks i'll compromise there , also you can get the renthal superlite bars which use a lot thinner aluminium tube and are really light but hunterdubber said he snapped some when he was about 13  :shocked:so i'll stick with the superstrongs, thanks for the input and comments  and i might do a few of the tweaks now you've mentioned over the period .....now what next  ;D :daumenhoch:
