whats best to remove old sticker glue?  I tried acetone but that did fookall

WD40 or GT85 will do the trick, so will petrol or lighter fuel  ;)

I'm with Brum, white spirit, takes a few minutes elbow grease for it to soak in but once it does it's simple.

the custom car boys use any Citric acid fizzy drink like Orangeaid, 7up etc, even coke ! which is a bonus as you get to remove your sticker residue and have a drink with the left overs.
