Title: Shaneze at Yeadon earlier
Post by: nhoj on April 21, 2010, 10:10 PM: Popped over to Yeadon gate practice tonight to see about a new bike for my son and Shaneze Reed was there, damn she's fast!!!

Amazing to see how fast and low it is possible to go!!

I asked her if I could take a picture of her with my son and I have to say, she was lovely, polite and friendly, arm around my Sam balancing him on his bike with her goggles on his handlebars - top girl :4_17_5:

I don't quite think Sam, who is 6, fully appreciated he was next to the fastest girl in the whole-wide-world.

Just can't get the pic off my phone now :idiot2: Can you set your computer to receive bluetooth?

BTW Shanaze does seem a nice and she is sooooper fast ,,,,

Some people knock her cos she's in the media a lot and become a bit of a celeb, but she's a 21 year old lass and who can blame her for liking the limelight and taking her opportunities.

Can't wait to see her win gold at London 2012.

Last year - coming into the sport I didn't think Shanaze did enough to recognise or invest in her roots. I thought she was making a bad job of managing her own brand even.

This year - totally different view. Promoting her image well, spending lots of time at local grass roots venues, approachable, good with public.

I don't mind the fact she is carving out a living - who wouldn't want that for themselves of their kids!

And above all she seems quite nice.
