trying to get some removed and its doing my nut in,help please.

Just remove a bolt, and tap the spindle through using a drift. :-\

i,ve got the tool you use to install them,do you use it to remove them as well?

Yes, remove the sleave off it then screw into place finger tight, then hit the head with a hammer ;) , i use a rubber mallet :daumenhoch:

think the weekend had caught up with me.after screaming the street down i realised what i should be doing.can't
get the fooking bearings and cups out now.dont want to bray them out coz i'm selling them. :wtf:

i always use the screwdriver method......put it through and against the insode edge of the bearing cup, then tap gently going round and it should pop out :daumenhoch:

I use an extension bar off a socket set.
The nice square but rounded end is perfect for sitting against the bearing cup and smacking it out.
Makesure you grease the BB and new bearing cup to aid installation and removal in the future!! :daumenhoch:

i soaked them overnight in wd40 and managed to get them out using the screwdriver method.

I Use A copper punch (Drift) as it acts as a sacrifial material leaving the bearings as they are meant to be!

So I've got a pair to remove. I've taken the arms off, do I just support the frame (on wood) and then drift the spindle out with a punch?!

the axle should just slide out with a bit of help from a hammer, then use the above method for removing the bearings and cups.

Axle needs gently tapping out so you can get to remove the bearings.

^ correct. The spindle should fit really tightly against the bearings, so it may need a slight bit of welly to push it through

Thanks guys... I managed to get the arms off and spindle out.
I was using a wooden drift to try and punch the spindle out... I stopped.
I then used different sized screwdrivers and gently tapped them in to prize out the bearing covers on one side, then did the same on the other.
After that I then put in the profile allen key bolts (M10?) and rather than using the drift I put a t shirt around a copper hammer and gave it some welly! I got the non chainring side crank arm off first, then the other side slid out as you'd expect.
Just need to get the bearings out now, which I'll draft through from the opposite side of the frame (although there is that central spacer inside which prevents me from using a square extension bar, I'll have to get a flat head screwdriver or something).
