2blader - You have parts on that build I didn't know existed - Fantastic!
& Surf911s - Just amazing - great collection!
-
It is !
Some serious eye candy there :4_17_5:
-
Was checking them out earlier - 2blader's build is just awesome :4_17_5:
How rad are the hubs  havent seen those for years ;)
-
That is a tidy build and a half :4_17_5:
-
Those Profiles definately slipped in under the radar, lovely builds and I am not the biggest fan of Profiles.
-
Got a magazine article comparing all sorts of pedals with those profile ones in it - quite rare I guess - only seen em on a couple of builds.
Some rare items for sure on that last one
-
i used to have a pair of those pedals on my changa...why,oh why did i sell the whole bike for £185
-
Here they are.......

Nobody listens to me ???

Thank you guys-it is very much appreciated.
Yes the 82 I posted has some of the rarest parts they (Profile) made.
NOS set of HF GYROLITE II hubs with rare optional TI axles-onlt NOS set I know of before being laced
PROFILE stamped bearing cups-made maybe a few months-only have seen 2 sets
the f/f set itself is rare- 1/20 sets of straight blade team forks made...1/6 sets of forks know to exist...1/4 OG f/f sets
Profile STD. bars 1st gens. just hard to find but they are out there
NOS Horse Shoe pedals-rare in NOS condition
1st Gen Profile Lockjaw-solid bottom-I have seen 6-7 of them Surf911s owns 2
Early 2nd gen Cranks with no drain holes and with the lip for the spider...out there but hard to find (mine when I was 12)
REAL OG
Surf and I are mainly Profile collectors. :)

WOW, thanks guys for all the compliments. Scotts ride is one bad ass mo fo. I'm jealous of it.
SINCE THIS IS NOT MUSEUM WORTHY YET, I'll post it in here for now.
NO, THIS IS NOT THE SAME BUILD AS THE OTHER BLACK/CHROME BUILD IN MY BIKES
Though, it is sporting the stem, and seat from that build. Everything else is different. The other black/chrome build had some parts changed, and was giving away to a buddy.
This one isn't done. I'm needing to tighten the spokes on the rear wheel, and have to change out the headset (crap), and waiting for special decals.
This one is a rider. This replaces the other black/chrome build.
OG Chrome F/F, with some rub marks in the chrome, non drilled forks
Ukai wheels to Suzie hubs,Suntour freewheel wearing comp III green labels
Hutch Pro Raider bars, and Hutch layed back seatpost
Tuff Neck Square stem
SR Clamp
3 Gen 180 cranks (chrome sucks), with DB Turbo 44T chainwheel, polished (not by me) Profile star
XC II Pedals
MX 1000 Rear, tech 3 lever
Ame grips
Izumi chain

love dat thing Bill...but for the love of god...get rid of those rusted bolts in those cranks. ::) I like the stickers. ;)
-
Thats what happens when you build a bike at 1am, in a half lit room :2funny:, I just wanted to finish it up, so I could ride it with my son in the morn. Was up at 8:30am to ride with the son to school, and snapped a few pics on the way home. Thats when I realized the rusted bolts, :idiot2: :idiot2: :uglystupid2:
Hence the reason its not worthy of the museum yet . Still have to tru the rear wheel,re[lace the freewheel (this suntour is worn) find somebody to make me a black/chrome head tube decal, like the one on the seat post tube, and maybe the other decals, without costing a fortune.
Just something different. Glad everybody likes it.

get rid of the orginal rusted profile bolts !! ?? doh !! ... id be keepin them tbh :daumenhoch:

Every time I look at one of these Profile threads I get sick to my stomach. I sooooo did not want to sell mine in 1989, but I need every penny to get to Japan and survive there until I found work. It was painful as hell that day, and just as painful a memory now.
July 1989, waiting for the buyer to come by and pick it up. $375 and a promise to give me the first shot at buying it back was all it went for. Never did hear from the buyer again. Took em more than a month to find a job in Japan and I ran out of money twice, so it was a good thing, I guess. I stayed 4 years and that was cool.
