hi lads have gave a chromers a set of togia bars to chrome the guys wanting to know if lower bars and upper bars are sealed where welds are if they are he said he needs to drill a hole in them to get the liquid out of them after stripping them is it ok to do that never had anything chrome so i said no to drilling a hole  help need some info fast if possible all yous crazy collectors out there plz share your knowledge  thanks jt :-\

the guy say that can be a problem if the bottom bar isnt a sealed tube and there is a pin hole in the weld then the liquid will get in to the inside of the bottom bar and might not come out completely and when the finished product is on the bike if it does get out then it will strip any chrome it comes into contact with

Were the bars originally chrome ??

If they were then there shouldn't be an issue as they'd have been chromed after assembly and any weld perforations would've been picked up then

His theory makes sense but I think he's just being a little over cautious  :-X

the guy made some mess of them he said hed do the preping ie stripping and cleaning got them back with rust still under cross bar also in good light they are all spotty looking due to not getting a rub with sand paper to get rid of rust pits so you can see dumps and dents where the rust pits were

You mean he made all that fuss about drilling two tiny holes and the tw@t can't chrome properly anyway  :wtf:
