the 11 quid T1 and a big thanks
« on: February 16, 2010, 09:50 PM »
scored this off the bay for £11!!!
suprised the guy posted it off tbh, was fully expecting him to refuse,

its a 1-of-100 ever made Terrible One scott malyon signature barcode,
made by mass specialties, the main difference to the regular barcode is the gyro tabs and euro bb,

apart from the layers of rattlecan paint the thing is mint!

with the Ti barcode to show just how close it is,

and lastly.
a massive thanks to ade (keepitlight) for going out of his way to sort these S&M race version forks for me for the Ti barcode build,

you're a gentleman and a hero ade,

cheers mate :daumenhoch:

I got given a T1 for free :P

But eye, £11 is a good deal I'd say.  Nice frames - feel strong as.  I rode a ruben t1 for a while - that was way nice to ride, I'd still ride it but when I got a smaller gear setup the brakes were in the way.  Why do t1s always have lugs on chain stays? only let down I think, unless your all newschool and ride no brakes, or run 44 16 still.

its no lightweight frame like!
like you said though, they are so so strong,
if i send you some t1 stickers can you get malyon to sign them please muttley? ::) :LolLolLolLol:

came with a euro bb fitted so i know the threads are good,
i think i'll strip it and re do it in the gunmetal metallic grey, got some barcode stickers spare for it too,

might have some t1 forks sorted for it thanks to a rad member, but i dont think i'll ever complete it,

i was most interested in it so i could compare the ti version to it and tbh the ti is an exact copy,

still searching for a T1 progression and i'd be hugely tempted with a spooky built barcode,

looking back i can remember old school 80's stuff going for similar prices back in the mid 90's
i once paid a bloke £30 for a minty redline carrera full bike, sugino flights, gt/araya's, tuf-neck etc,

bought an early gt pro series frame for a tenner!

if equivelents andcomparisons were to be made, i'd say the s&m's and standards will be the GT/haro's,
but T1 will be the hutch........

standard would be hutch :P
s&m would be gt, since they pinched the pro bars n malet stems
T1 would be I guess skyway? or something, haha I dunno.

to compare with the endlessly breaking new school frames what is the weight of the original t1 barcodes?

About 7 1/2 lbs I think, bang on for a late 90's frame.
