Yeah this thread makes me green with envy, I've paid top dollar for all my OS stuff. My fully specced curtis expert from BITD got nicked when I was 19, I was as gutted as can be, and keep dreaming I'll find it at the tip one day.

1) Mk2 Ultra Burner
2) £0  (threw it in the back of the car when no one was looking  :) )
3) Local tip
4) Broke it for parts and sold most of them on

Same here, but I paid £2.18 in a local auction for mine.  :(

Ponced some great parts off it though that I still use and the frame got £70 on ebay.

my first find was an old super tuff burner at a vintage lorry show we were at.
gave the fella £13.50.
had a good set of alloy hub tuffs on it.
my best was this quadangle.
bought another set of tuffs off ebay for £60 as the lad was local. asked him if he had anymore bits about and he said he had his old frame but was'nt sure if it was worth putting on ebay. i went to have a look and came back with a 83 quad unstamped landing gear tuf neck stem dc mx1000 rickman freestyle bars and a few more good bits for £35.oh yeah and the tuffs i bought had comp 2's on lol.
before as i got it.

All my bikes have been either skip/rubbish pile/ bootsale finds/dumped down alley finds lol and ive also knocked on peoples doors whilst on my post round if ive seen a bmx that looks like its about to be chucked out in their garden lol  ;) Best ones include a rainbow pro lite £5 from car boot, a Mongoose mk1 with skyways (bought at least 10 yrs ago for £3 from car boot)  and a Raleigh Chopper which i knocked on the door for  :)

You're better off getting some flyers printed off and prepping them in with your households. That way every single one of your customers will know you're on the lookout for old bikes.
I've often thought about doing it.  :coolsmiley:
One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

A friend of mine pulled a loopy PK Ripper out of a skip that was on the driveway of an old friends house. He was driving past and saw his old mates dad clearing out his garage so stopped to say hello. To his amazement he saw the ass end of the PK in the skip and asked if he could have it, the dad said yes. Anyway he got it home and after looking more closely at it realised it was his old bike that he sold to his old friend for a quarter of smoke back in the day!!!!!!!!!!
If that wernt enough the lucky f*cker was at a boot sale with his wife last year and bought a bmx that ended up being a Kuahara KZ 1 frame with Firebird freestler forks and ladder bars on it!!!!! Ive never found anything, hahahah. Maybe one day.
