My New Project, Standard STA
« on: November 22, 2009, 02:01 PM »
Picked this up on friday, much to my delight! It came up as a random comment on a car forum I use, I kinda thought it was a frame and forks but turned out to be a whole bike. Was a 3 hour round trip to collect it, totally worth it!

Tbh I am not sure what I plan to do with it, its in nice survivor condition, but I think I will freshen it up abit. The cranks and chainring are painted stright over by the looks of things, it seems to just flake off the chrome. Maybe a colour change? But the black and chrome look is timeless I guess!

Bits I can identify are,

Standard STA Frame, 1997 I think.
Standard Bash Forks
Profile 3 Piece cranks
Profile (imperial?) chainring
Demolition Stem.
Hoffman Hubs, Alex rims.
Primo Tenderisor pedals.
No clue on the handlebars.

Chuffed to bits as I have always wanted one, since the first time around! Was cheap as chips too!

defo a beast! weighs a ton! Sadly I cant ride for sh** anymore, so I'll just be rolling about on it. Gonna have to sell my ripper to justify it too, but still. Worth it!

serial number not really required! joe's not far away, turn of the century that frame. 97's had top and downtube gussets and different dropouts.

could be OX, could be not!

good luck finding stickers, not that easy to find these days.
