Retro BMX Fixie Rippers
« on: November 13, 2009, 07:41 AM »
Well I've not seen these before ,so I take it it's one of Mr Alan Woods' own twist on the fixie scene

Good idea  too   :daumenhoch:

but I've not rode a fixie so   :-\

I'm sorry but I don't get this fixie business...whatever the colour scheme it looks like a shitty old bike my Granddad would have ridden, hence a resounding thanks, but no thanks.

Not really got a problem with fixies or people who are into them, but the PK Ripper name shouldn't be anywhere near a fixie.

They look nice but I think a fixed gear belongs on a velodrome and nowhere else as they struggle with big climbs or descents so all they're good for is posing IMO.  You could use a freewheel but that would defeat the point and then there's the issue of it not having brakes. ???  I hope the tyres are good as a fixie skids when you do need to stop and a naff tyre doesn't last 2 minutes.

Crazy :D
