You don't want to know what my lads bike stands me at!
It's all relative I suppose though. If someones willing to spend over £2k on a carpet-queen, then why not spend this much on something thats getting some proper use? Where this bloke has gone wrong is he has spent a s#it load of money on bikes when his kids weren't really interested. My sons first race bike cost £80, and he still got a win out of it...and we sort of went on from there really. It starts as a hobby and becomes a passion, and then you realise that the money you are spending on it is the best money you'll ever spend- it's your 'fun money' as someone once said to me, and you're better off spending it with your kids than killing yourself down the boozer or on the tax man.
It's nothing compared to kart racing- the money I spent on that 'addiction' was staggering, but it was the best money I ever spent, and I'd do it all again!
