Massive Congratulations Ian, the 2009 Old School Rider of the Year

The people have spoken and by a landslide our buddy Moley was voted top dog for 2009

It was clear from the nominations that Ian would be hard to beat, below are just a few snippets of PM's sent and just why Ian was the voted Rider of the Year

"It's got to be Moley - even managed a 3rd this year and flying at the Scottish Open...........and he always manages to satisfy our egos by spending hours on end uploading all the race footage."

"I nominate Moley.
Attends and competes in all the north region races. And sometimes those in the south and Scotland.
Records all the results and uploads videos on here.
Overall, a good bloke and always willing to help out."

"I`d like to nominate Moley as my choice,mainly `cos he has done loads to keep OS racing alive in the North and encouraging new riders and motivating everybody to stop jacking off over their bikes and go and ride`em!"

I know Ian has worked immensly hard to promote Old School in the North, his assistance to all the Old School regions is priceless and his commitment to videoing and recording the races and results is appreciated by all.

puts in more effort than most and just loves BMX....

In fact he may be up for the 2010 award as well if his riding at Preston is anything to go by... he's improved ten-fold on a bike and is deffo working his way through the rankings..

I've just got back from Crewe and Chester's Pump Track and nearly went into shock when I saw this!!

Cheers lads, I really appreciate it!!

JD, Ben and myself had a good day out at Crewe on a really fast and technical track.

I'm getting better but I still fear the sky and manualling. So hopefully I can overcome these fears over the next year and start jumping the l'il doubles.

I started BMXing to lose weight and to have a laff (and to avoid going to the pub every night). I'm still overweight but I now have miniscule muscles under my flab so I must be doing something right. I've really enjoyed the racing and I've met a great bunch lads. Its all about the craic. If you aint havin' any then why do it!! So thats why I'm doin' it!

Its good to see all the newbies joining the OS and I'm glad the South want to get their OS Series back to what it was 2 years ago, so I hope this winter gains some good support from the riders down south so that next summer the OS can hit the ground running.

Its been a great year oop north, record attendance in all classes and everyone is improving and I hope it continues to do so.

I'm glad everyone likes the videos. I really dont mind doing it as I like to watch myself perform!!!

Big thanks to Bof, Rollin, Meticus, HEYWOOD and everyone else who helped film the footage!!
