Flying the RALEIGH Flag....
« on: October 10, 2009, 04:48 PM »
This has been something that I have wanted to do for some time, well... with the help of spike371 we are close to having 2009/10 Team Burnerworld Race Kit.

The idea was to reproduce the 1980's Team Raleigh BMX Race Kit for 2009 with a slight Modern twist but keeping as close to the original design as possible.

1980's Original... as worn by 1985 World Champion Craig Schofield.

Artwork produced for TEAM BURNERWORLD Race Kit.

The trousers are still under production but will be very high quality and as close to originals in design as possible. I would have liked the full kit for Preston but despite the major efforts of spike371 its not gonna happen... but I cannot complain, what we have is superb!!

Hope you guys agree... these look the dogs...   :coolsmiley:  :coolsmiley:  :coolsmiley:

TEAM BURNERWORLD - Race Shirt 2009/10

My 2009/10 RACE FACE....    >:D  >:D  >:D  (Helmet will look better when its sporting a few self inflicted wounds  )

Should be a fun winter and summer....   :coolsmiley:  :coolsmiley:  :coolsmiley:

I'm riding the bike I love... wearing the colours I adore.... I wish it was 1984.

Initially these will be available to those guys who race in their regional BMX series'... the shirts will be £40 (Inc P&P), trousers will be a fair amount more expensive but more on those when they are done.

Obviously the radbmx guys wouldn't be seen dead in such colours (barring the eductaed few... Kai Riviere and Darren Wood  8))

Massive thanks to Spike for his efforts on this project... and anyone who races and is interested in flying the flag for BW and sporting the legendary Raleigh colours should contact spike371 via PM.

BMX! BMX! BMX!

I have to say I like that, the bike to!

Never was into burners - something about the frames that just looked strange - but that one doesn't, pardon my dumbness but did they change the 'frame set up' for that model and not just the tubing...

I am going to get laughed at now!  :-[

"All the Gear and No Idea"  :2funny: :2funny:

Well the Burner and NEW Race Kit made their debut... 2nd in the C Final, missed out on the Semi's by 1 point after failing to progress in a tough Moto Group.

Was a bit disappointed with the result but with 27 riders in the Old Skool Class (and an A Final group that would put most other classes to shame for skill, ability and entertainment!) it wasn't too bad.... its a new bike and its gonna take some getting used to, but the nostagia and emotional pull of the Raleigh were too much resist.

I've promised to race her for at least the whole of the Winter Series so I have left myself with plenty of room for improvement... 18th out of 27 aint a disaster and its all good fun at the end of the day...

A few pics of the 'iconic' Team Colours' gracing the track at Preston (taken by my own personal photographer  :coolsmiley: my daughter Beth  :4_17_5:)

and my favourite (having been treated to a bit of digital enhancement)

See you loonies at Crewe.... fast... fast... fast... whhhhoooooshhhh.....
