« on: October 03, 2009, 09:46 PM »
are 6 spoke skyways any better/worse than 5 spoke and wot year did they come in i know 5 spoke to me is proper old school classic design as i remember as a yoot but i know the 6 spoke always sells for less but is the six spoke not as good for freestyle if so why did skyway make them? :-\

Your refering to skyway OE wheels

They are not as popular as the Tuff 2's so even thou they are rarer they dont fetch that much.

I believe they came on the skyway complete bikes

Probably did come on the decade as that replaced the FS1 but that's getting out of my collection era  :-\

The M1 came with pro-steel wheels (cheapo steel pro-class jobbies  ;) )

Thats a bit bizarre then mate as I have an 87 M1 in me garage which I bought in the early 90s from the same place and at the same time as my mate who took the Decade and both had/have the 6 spoke oem Skyways on....

Far be it from me to argue with the goose-meister but as far as I know mine was completely standard when I got it...

87 is beyond my collecting years bud so maybe they did  :-\ or maybe it was an option wheel - early 80's you could always choose yer wheels on a complete goose - steel rims / arayas / tuffs / motomags....... so maybe when you bought your M1 in 87 you could choose pro-steel / pro-class / Skyway OE depending how much you were spendin  ??? :daumenhoch:

"goose-meister" - hardly mate - just goose-obsessive  :D :-[ ;D and the way mongoose specs randomly changed over the years without rhyme or reason I doubt any one person could ever be "all knowing" about mongoose.....................

The OE also came on some 1986 Diamond Back's such as the Hot Streak and Cool Streak. :daumenhoch:

Now thats nice  :4_17_5:

I admit I've been tempted to do something with mine but as much as its pretty horrible to look at it is gen and I kinda like keeping things original.  No doubt about it though yours looks 1000x better than mine.
