Southern California Update
« on: March 24, 2006, 06:35 PM »
How ya'll doing

Just a quick note from So Cal to let you know whats going one here.

Well lets start with the sun is shining! there aint a cloud in the sky and I'm not missing Yorkshire in the slightest! Hehe

I'm staying with a good friend of mine in Neal Wodd in Huntington Beach. He was holding my last Ebay purchace ready for me to collect. Well I picked it up and WOW! its beautiful. It was my holy grail a Bassett Cruiser. I have only ever seen one of these before. Also included in the purchase was a 20'' Bassett Swooper F&F. Any way I went up to S&M Bikes yesterday and unpacked my pair of Bassets and can only say I am stoked. Later I went over and met the guy who I have bought  them from. He had a whole line up of 70's bikes, Webcos etc. Very nice.

Today, well the sun is shining again! Yeehaaa! I've just been building a cruiser in Neals garage and will be hitting gate practice over at Orange County YMCA track tonight. Gonna get my snap on! if I can remember how!

Dingo, I cant find you a padset but havent given up yet, Andy I'm calling into S&M on my way to the track tonight and will get your stickers for you.

Well there you go. I'd like to say I'm missing you all but I'm not! Anyway I gotta go cos its time for a beach ride! Lots of big fake boobs to check out!

See ya, have a nice day!

Wish you were here!

JJ

Oh dear, that sounds dreadful.

I've just been jogging for the first time since school, after 2 minutes it started to rain and the path I decided to jog along had dog shit half way along it. Good old England eh :Great_Britain:

You lucky man :LolLolLolLol:

Hey Jonny, hope you are having a good time mate - it certainly sounds like it.

Show Neal this picture of me and him jumping the first big doubles at Harrogate in 87 to remind him of life back in the UK!  ;D

Hey Scott

Cool piccy of the first doubles at Harrogate. We tryed to get the track going again a few years ago but the council are just knobs!

Thats ole' Johny Walker on the far right in the Deals On Wheels Top! He was a funny guy!

Anyway, I went to Orange County YMCA track last night. My snap has gone! Even a girly MTBer Tara Llanes was snapping me! Not good! Later found out that the freewheel on Neals cruiser was a 17...... 41-17 is a bit to high for an old timer such as me!

Going on the hunt of all things old in the BMX world tomorrow, I'm told there is a 'swap meet' at the track. Sheep hills later today, and probably tomorrow  late afternoon!......

but for know its time to hit the beach...... wheres my camera!

JJ, how long are you gonna be there?
I fly into LA on Wed afternoon (29th). Off to the ABA race in Phoenix.
I'll have the Monday April 3rd free (I hope). Maybe I'll see you out there?

Hey Geth

Sadly I'll be flying home on the 29th. Only a quick stop for me. Wish I was staying for longer!

Ah well.
Worth asking. Looking like I'm going straight to S&M too. I'll be there mid afternoon.
Might see you in the airport!! What times your flight?
