--sheps condor done---
« on: September 23, 2009, 08:44 AM »
here she is,james shepherds 94 condor :smitten:  :smitten: i did some custom decals for it and painted it a color changing purple/blue, it definatly pops! i wanted it to have the same colors as one of my fav hoffman shirts (the one in my avitar)
got some people to thank on this one.
members here,
EGG- for hooking me up sweet with the early love handles. Ian,your my hero  :4_17_5: (and just to let you know, got the owner of kona/stonedge to let bikes back in after many years so whenever you on this side of the pond  :daumenhoch: )
RARMAN1- for selling me the super forks, thanks again  :)
others for inside info,
jaybrand-for talking with james and getting the full lowdown on the history of this frame. i cant thank him enough for it  8)  8)
and paul murray- for helping out with a wealth of early hoffman ramp room info that only somebody that worked there could know, invaluable stuff. would love to see your 0005 condor next to my 0008  :daumenhoch:

im gonna end up changing a small part or 2 on it but its pretty much gonna stay this way.

Love that paint - westcoast!

Excuse my ignorance but were those frames made by GT - that dropout looks very GT-like to me.

nope. made in hoffmans factory in okc. right next to the legendary ninja ramp  :daumenhoch: also where all the mega ramp madness went down.
this vid going through the factory is a bit later,in 1995

Wonderous!  I still want a condor!   :4_17_5:

give us a parts list please

sorry, i forgot about the parts list  :uglystupid2:

94 condor frame
early hoffman superfork/stem
early non gusset removeable grip tube love handles
profile cranks/sprocket
hoffman/gack hardy pegs
later hoffman/gack alex high roller wheels
primo vmonsters (might might change these for peregrine hps or at least fresh vmonsters)
odys z77 seat, odys gyro and lower cable
kmc chain
dc ad 990 in back with kool stop pads, 990 plate on the front with an hombre (ill change out to a dc 990)
some random alum seat post i got from a mtn bike many years ago
1st gen primo super meat tenderizers pedals and 1st gen primo pervert (both were saved for another upcoming build. dont know what pedals to put on. maybe peregrines? dx copies? idk yet)
diamondback grips i had just laying around (def want to change these out. would love to find pink and purple odi mushrooms or mushroom 2s)

think thats it  :coolsmiley:

Very nice bike!!! would be cool if you could track down a picture or clip of it being ridden by J.S. Did you paint over ther initials or leave a little window there?

Kind of a shame you didn't build it up to be how Sheps rode it, instead of it looking like something Kevin Robinson would ride.

rriiiiight ::) ..................... ok,this is easy, ill take off the pegs on the right side, take off the gyro, de-decal it,throw some 9th st dirt on it and itll be spot on to how he rode it :daumenhoch:  maybe find a set of the 1 of 4 made family bikes bars........
