Bell V's 661 help
« on: September 30, 2009, 10:23 AM »
I'm looking to buy a full face crash hat so I can start trying to ride properly again.
the two that seem to be in my price bracket are the Bell ballistic and the 661 full comp.
some advice from anyone who's tried them would be great :daumenhoch:

I'm also looking at the 661 pressure suit if anyone has any experience with those? http://www.winstanleysbmx.com/product/14267/661_Assault_Pressure_Suit_2009

pressure suits are awesome, mines paid for itself a good few times over, altho they are quite expensive, i think some of the other dudes could recommend alternatives, i also use a bell ballistic, once again i've had a few good offs and it done the job :daumenhoch:

I have a 661 full  comp - my bonce is 57cm, but the 56-58 didn't fit, too small. I went for the 58-60, which fits perfectly, although we measure dmy mate at a 58 and he said the 56-58 fitted him perfectly... I have a wierd head I think.
Anyway just spent a week in  morzine with it, its white, light and very tasty. Keeps your head cool. I had a few wipe outs and was glad of a full face.

If you are interested I have the brand new in box 56-58 which I didnt get round to sending back to chain reaction and its past the 30 days now so I need to sell.

I`d get this one as it has the back plate too, I`ve got this and just cut off the forearm and elbow pads as I didn`t like the feel of the ones on the suit.

Oh, I`ve got a 661 evolution crash helmet which is good too  :daumenhoch:
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,

Body armour - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx'modelID=27747
Got this one excellent fit, especially if yer short and fat... also offered excellent protection in morzine. Solid plastic chest, back and shoulders. I had a 661 one but the front and back was foam not plastic, and not very protective.

Screaming bargain...

http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Helmet-Depot_Bell_W0QQ_fsubZ6335026QQ_sidZ30607330?_nkw=7r

 :)

Mega bargains & best lids on this thread yet . IMO go for MX lid over MTB lid any day , Flying Fox snapped the front off a Troy Lee MTB lid !!
