Considering selling me Quad - value? (lots of pics added!)
« on: September 28, 2009, 09:45 AM »
Could use the cash and its just sat in my shed looking purdy.  I think I prefer my TA and Rebel (for personal reasons) so the quad would be first to go despite being probably my best bike in terms of parts.

Spec as follows:

- 1983 (sure its 83, could be 82) Reynolds 531 frame in blue with white unstamped LG's.  The frame was powdered before I got it, and is in very nice nick.  Its never been ridden since powdering just built a couple of times.  Powder has flaked off the seat tube from a too tight Tuf Neck clamp but its pretty much hidden when built (just the top edge shows).  LG's are mint with blue LG decals, but the thread is slightly damaged about half way down (does not affect fitting and it tightens up perfectly).
- Tange 125 headset in chrome with blue decal.  NOS b4 fitting.
- Vector pro bars with integral stem in chrome (chrome about an 8/10).  Wedge needs replacing as its threads have gone.
- Oakley F1 grips in blue w/ white sleeves.  These were NOS but have a few storage marks on end.
- Front and rear DC MX1000 in chrome with blue skyway tuff pads plus left and right DC Tech 3's and blue cables and 2 cable clips.
- DC hinged clamp in chrome.
- Reynolds 531 seat post in chrome.
- Kashimax Aero in blue NOS b4 fitting.  Came to me with no guts so I got one of those Landar replacement guts.
- Hanabishi 3 pc. NOS b4 fitting.
- Tuf (or Pro) Neck chainwheel.
- Shimano SX in blue.
- Z rims in blue (with Suzue hubs in blue).  Rims have been re-decal'd.  Not ridden on since being re-built.
- 2.125/1.75 Rainbow Comp III's.  NOS b4 fitting.
- Quad padset in blue/white.
- Izumi chain in silver.
- Haro circuit board plate in blue/white/grey.

Ideally dont want to split.  What do you reckon its worth complete?

Yeah, will get some pics up soon.  Not taken any since the vector bars and new grips were fitted fairly recently.

Dont mind a hit, if it saves the hassle of stripping and posting parts left, right and centre.  Just depends on how much of a hit.

Meticus, I will pm you.

depending on how much you value your time, the cost of posting it all etc etc.

i've sold a few full bikes on here no problem.

for example, if your bike as per craig values in at say 900, and it goes for 700, its whether you see the extra potential 200 quid to split it as being worth it.

bear in mind some of the stuff might not sell etc, so you might only end up with 700 quid and few bits left over.

i''d give 300 quid for it, nice and peaceful, would collect as well :D

Lol... no offence taken chaps.  Personally, I love em, think they suit the angles of the frame.  But agree they are very marmite.

Thanks for the comments guys, appreciated.

Moving towards selling this complete, as I dont rally have time to spilt and would rather have the cash in a single hit even if I do end up losing out.  Want to stay away from the bay if possible, their fee's just kill it.

Or maybe I could list with a crazy BIN and see if anyone bites?

Was gonna say, cant imagine US buyers ever importing stuff from UK.  Does it ever happen (with the likes of full bikes, not small parts that are easy)

Listed it on ebay for £1200 (wont get it) while I decide what to do.  If someone on the bay fancies chuckinh a grand+ at me, its theirs.

Will be gutted to see it go, and reallyneed every penny out of it due to personal circumstances (road bike going next :( ).
