Being too fussy?

I'm putting a bike together that i want to look right and be an occasional rider

The frames been powdered but i think the powders too thick... 

Last night i was washing some tyres in the kitchen sink... the mrs thinks i'm losing the plot... 

Theres chrome parts all over the kitchen covered in autosol

I'm now thinking this aint good enough and that aint good enough

Is this all normal when building an old bike or am i going round the bend?...

normal,they are obviuosly not good enough, put bits in the bin or get them recromed and start thinking about your next build to take your mind off it

sooo wrong mate tyres come up way better in the dishwasher

They were just dirty from being on a bike for a while... 

Didnt get right far and decided to stop cos im not happy with the powdercoating, gonna take it apart and get it done again... grrrr...
