Glass paint ?
« on: September 23, 2009, 05:12 PM »

Heard this "glass paint" mentioned a few times now (and again tonight in craig's DX resto thread) and was wondering if anyone can show any pitures of stuff they've done with it ?

....also, the only products I seem to be able to find on the net are brush applied - won't this give a bit of a streaky finsh  ??? or is there a spray applied version that I just can't find  :-\

Get yer pics n product detail up folks  :)

hello mate, just read your thread and this stuff got me thinking

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-E-tech-Light-Tinting-Spray-RED-lens-tint_W0QQitemZ270428306606QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item3ef6c87cae&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

its a translucent spray in red, you can also get black and blue. must be similar to glass paint as both designed to still let light through??

just a thought :daumenhoch:

could you not put some celluse colour in clear celluse laquer?

Would that not give it that translucent effect, similar to glass paint.

I have used glass paint a few times but for leaded lights ect and is not good to paint with, you can thin it so I am sure it can be sprayed.... not sure where the company got it from. They used to send broken glass with painted designs on them for me to match and then refit them back into windows, pubs etc..

just found this:

I did these a while back using plastikote stuff

Happy with the finish but the colour's just not quite right, it doesn't really 'go' with the blue anno stuff  :(

They look pretty good to me mate  ;) Maybe just need to be a tad darker  :-\

So what plastikote stuff did you use (they've got 100's of products ! ) as I might try the red out - might be a closer match in red I suppose :-\

It's the 'projekt paint' glass spray paint
Cheers  :daumenhoch: by themselves they look great, it's just the wrong shade of blue, or maybe i'm just being gay  :-*

As I said in my previous post mate - I think they look pretty f**kin good - especially for a rattle jobby  :smitten:

I know what you mean about the shade - maybe a tad darker but not much  :-\

Have you got a piccy of them on your build then  :)
