mate i work for royal mail in bristol and weve had a few strikes over the last two months or so and are now balloting for a national strike which will be one day strikes all over the country if it goes ahead i know london has had quite a few strikes as we had some of there work in bristols sorting office which we had to try to do but only after we had done are own work which normally goes to the wire so id say theres probably alot of mail still waiting to be done anyway i hope you get your parcels soon mate but as i know the service isnt the best thats because they let people leave then think the people that are left can still do the same job its like say one person out of five leaves and they think that four people can still do the job of five which isnt that easy anyway hope you get the parcel before you need it mate  :daumenhoch:

Scott hi mate, sorry didn't mean to offend at all  ;) royal mail only seems to get their arse in gear with special delivery's and parcelforce is good also, but standard 1st class and 1st class recorded is a joke nowadays. I just hope my bloody seat arrives soon!  >:(  :-\

The strikes have pretty much been put off till after Christmas.

A few major players like Amazon have talked to Royal Mail and told them to to pull there fingers out of their arses because if they don't Amazon will take their service elsewhere. RM shit themselves and have now decided to talk to the union, with the talks now going on, any future strike action has temporarily been postponed although this could fall through if Royal Mail still decide to do things their way. I doubt this'll happen though.

How do i know all this.....cause i do.  :LolLolLolLol:

Most of the mail backed up in mail centres in NOT first class mail, it is Down stream access mail which is basically junk mail.

Stuff i've ordered off here and ebay recently has got through by the next day.

Matt.... PM the seller of your bike chair and ask if they have actually sent it yet.

They'll have to this time Tim as they will not want to lose massive contracts like the Amazon one. Other major companies are following this example and are giving RM an ultimatum. There is too much at stake this time, especially with Christmas around the corner.

Like i posted Most of the mail isn't first class, i'm sure there is a small amount somewhere though. I know for fact that our office is clear of any backed up mail. The week before last was horrendous, thankfully it's clear now thanks to the posties that sorted it.  :daumenhoch:

I'm just a postie mate. A full time foot soldier.

In the last 3 months, i've been offered redundancy which i refused and i've been offered Part time hours again which i refused.

All new employees coming in to our office are Part time. Part of Royal Mails programme to modernise  :LolLolLolLol:

I hate the company but love the job  :crazy2: :crazy2:

Nah, not a Manager Tim, we had a Union meeting a few days back and the information i know is what our Rep was telling us. I sort of listen as the future as a Full timer at Royal Mail looks bleak. Got to do the job correctly and watch my arse as it seems to me Full timers are in the firing line for losing their jobs.  We've lost 4 in the last year for what a few years back would have been minor offences.
