Rechrome or leave alone?
« on: September 22, 2009, 12:59 PM »
Wondering what you all think. My old GT Performer, bought by myself (well parents) back in 84. I've given it a clean up and was trying to decide whether to re-chrome it or leave as original finish and just re-sticker it. Quite like the idea of original finish mesel but welcome to all suggestions!

Very nice , leave as is . I might be tempted maybe to do the head & seat tube decals only but that'd be it  ;)

Yep, I echo all the above.  Leave as is and get her built up.  Take pics as you go and post in Resto section as Jonathan (norty 40) suggested.

Good luck with the build.  :daumenhoch:

Especially with it being your original bike - looks like a VERY nice condition survivor  :)

Just give it a good clean & polish and put the re-chrome & decal money towards some nice tasty parts  :smitten:

Cheers guys!!

Guess I'll be leaving that as it is then! Gonna be built up as a Fiola rep from Paris,Bercy display with RL Osborn. Talking of RL Osborn i'm gonna start a new thread on my Redline Prostyler restoration (again my own bike from new).
