My Ammaco Team Sprint...Finally
« on: September 19, 2009, 11:52 PM »
Its not show quality, but its my rebuild of the bike I owned when I was 12, So I'm happy. Took a long time getting it done but its done  :) hope you like it.

The seatpost was the hardest part..I had to get the Haro one turned down to fit... not all original parts but close enough to my original... I'm happy  8)

The only pic I had of my original bike.

Ok, so the original was probably a silver star...but its close enough for me  :coolsmiley:

The Tech 2s on your old bike are at a rather jaunty angle.  How on earth did you manage to squeeze those levers when you had to stop the bike? :crazy2:

Looks lovely BTW.  Can't beat nice survivor chrome :daumenhoch: :4_17_5:

Wow, thanks for all the great comments, appreciated.

Lol, that was a craze that swept our estate for a while, everyone had there brakes at that angle for some strange reason...totally unusable, not that that worried you when you were a kid !

yeh it was, maybe september last year ?   The hardest part has been the seatpost. I simply couldnt find one in the right size, I think its a custom Ammaco size. I had to get the Haro one turned down in a Lathe to suite...

Seems a bit of a shame to sell it after the time & effort you've put in. :-\
All good I suppose, if someone else gets to enjoy it ;)

I know... Im in two minds at moment, the money would come in handy... but I do love it... but then its just hanging on the wall, never ridden... but then it looks so nice.. mmmm, maybe I should tuck it in the loft out of temptations way for a few years until my daughter can ride it  :)

Peter J's fixed up fellas - my brother found his original Ammaco at a car-boot and got it for him - checked the serial numbers and everything! Imagine how happy you'd be if your old bike from BITD turned up eh?

More importantly, you said Bolehills - do you live in Sheffield then? Peter J's in Chesterfeild and me and my brother Hootski70 are in Sheffield, so is Jase1 so we'll take you for a blast round the track if you fancy it :daumenhoch:

I've even got an Ammaco to rip round there on with you :coolsmiley:
