something wicked this way comes... .....HERE!!!!
« on: September 15, 2009, 11:19 PM »
well i've sent payment for the frame for my final build,

i've been after this frame since it was built,

it's taken months of emails back and forth to sort this out,

custom built for one of the most highly regarded and well known pro's

1 of 1 in the world,

beautifully made and very exotic,

its pretty famous in its own right,

after building some of the very best mid school and n/s bikes in the world i said i wasnt going to build another,
but this is too good an opportunity to pass on,
it'll be my "master-stroke" :LolLolLolLol:

pics as soon as it lands!

Holy shit! Thats amazing! I have heard you talk about that frame for a few years and it was more a dream list comment, rather than thinking its something you actually were going to get. Nice one, thats really really cool

i'm so chuffed!
since i first saw it on the t1 aeons back i've been sweating it, i tried to satisfy the craving with that ti reaper,
when taj had his operation i sent him a g.w.s message,
a few massages later and i enquired about it just out of curiosity,

it took a bit of persuading as joe was worried that someone might ride it hard and injure themselves,
they were both really sound about it tbh, thoroughly sound dudes,
and 2 of my all time bmx heroes,

its the first frame i've bought for ages and had no plans to buy another after you sorted me out the s&m custom, the xl-laf's going nowhere though :daumenhoch:

i've been collecting the bits for it and plan to build it as taj had it,
i feel i should but half of me wants to really go to town on it,
chris king wheels,ti spokes,blue6 bolts,king ti headset etc,etc,

dunno, it'll take me a year or so to finish though,
:LolLolLolLol:

i'll keep it short as i havent sleep properly for 2 days and am in pain,

its basically its a terrible one barcode frame but instead of 4130 its made from titanium,
made for taj mihelich one of the co owners of t1 and an amazing rider, bmx legend imo, right up there with haro, fiola, hoffman, wilkerson, etc, etc,
its the only one of its kind ever built,
just over 3lbs,

"theres just something about titanium you know?"
taj in one of his emails,

these are years apart but..
wtf,
/>
/>
this too...
check the power wheelie @1:24,
/>
i'll post the full story of it when it arrives soon,
cheers all, buying this has cheered me right up after this harsh last year and given me something to work on,

Id love to have the 89 Haro Master Hoffman pulled his first flair on.. Kinda like that.  Or the Hutch that was used on Helltrack

If I remenber correctly I think Hoffman gave that bike to a disabled kid from the make a wish foundation right after landing the flair in Mansfield !!

Congrats on owning something that's truly unique and a part of BMX history.  I guess that's what it's all about, but it's funny how that frame has attained an almost mythical status despite it being a failed experiment.  I remember Taj posting it up on T1's site and talking about it at the time, and it put me right off Ti.  It looked awesome built up though:

Quote
This bike sucked to ride. It was so mushy and flexy it felt like the frame was made out of rubber. It sits silently in a box in the T-1 store room to this day.

Not any more I guess ;)

Anyway, on an aside - if you haven't seen Headfirst then I don't know how you could consider yourself "mid-school" at all.
