S&M pads .... Old Vs New
« on: September 08, 2009, 02:15 PM »

I though this might be usefull to know. Here is the changes on the new Padsets.

- The text around the new shield is the new text (like on the stickers), the old pads have the old text

- The new pad has text on the handlebar AND frame pad

- The Stitching on the old Pads is white, the new is Black

- The material used for the old pads is white (the colour on the back) and all the black is ink. The new pads are black with white ink on the front

- Old pads have white Velcro, new have Black Velcro

- Old pads have white foam, new have black/grey

- The stem pad is longer (so it actually fits the stems!!)

I think its good that they aint the same. And for what the cost the new ones are spot on  :daumenhoch:

Fine by me. It sure happened alot in the 90s

All I know is that I have weathered the last 12 years and at last, an S&M framepad on my bike is "cool" again  :LolLolLolLol:

This is a good thing, this means the old and also repros of old pads will keep some of their value - easily recognisable. ! Ive just put a set of the new pads on my LAF - and it dont arf look sexy !

the material on the old ones feels thicker too,

the new ones are cool though,
i dont think i'll keep them on my bike tbh, it seems to look "chunky" now and i prefer it looking slim and simple :-\

how about we all post our bikes up here with them or the old ones on?
i know,
i know,

i'm such a dork...

Pads always make a bike feel bigger and more clumsy, esp the Handlebar and stem pad.
Its even worse when you put a numberplate on there as well

Yeah, I had a feeling that some of the later 90s padsets had black stitching  :daumenhoch:
