Found a few old pics of my Pro Star

I've been looking for these for a while now...and what do you know, when you don't look, they turn up.

The year must have been about 81-82. I'd been badgering my old man to get me a BMX. After a bit of digging, a shop in Anerley, Penge had a Pro Star. I knew they we linked to Diamond Back which were out of our budget. I'm sure it was about £110. Had loads of fun on it and raced it a Adur Aces in Shoreham by Sea.

The last pic is of Tim Belcher. I think he got to runner up in South East Regionals one year. Well this was outside our house and shows the stupid things we did. A few bricks and a few planks of wood. Never mind the brick wall or lamp post.

Let me know if you recognise Tim's bike. It's a budget bike with real mag wheels and weighed a tonne. I think it was a BH. He soon moved onto a rather nice Diamond Back.

Yeah they were really heavy. When I got a DP Firebird, I sold the forks as chro-moly for a tenner. Thinking back they couldn't possibly be. Steel frame, steel rims.

The Pro Star was build like a brick wall.

A mate had one of these BITD, and I bought one last year.
It was a frame only, and needs a re-chrome, but I have all the bits to build it.
I know I have said it before, but I should be cracking on with it very soon.
I think they were a great value bike.

That last picture typifies what BMX was for me.

Bits of wood, piles of bricks, blasting around the streets looking for the next wall or set of steps to fling ourselves off.

Yes, forgot to mention the padset is repro and slightly incorrect, the decals are repro but remastered from originals.

Feck me Si, I wish I would have known that.
It'll cost me nearly as much for the re-chrome, never mind the bits etc
