Any flatlanders on here?

Started trying to learn a little flatladn and have decided to make a few changes to my bike.

Going to get some new forks, stem, tyres and a seat.

Having trouble finding stuff though. I can order from germany, or from teh US but are there any places in teh UK that sell flatland parts mail order?

Im also having trouble deciding between minimal offset or zero offset forks, and what stem reach to go for.

Any advice?

I dont want to fully limit myself to flat only, but i wont be doing any hard riding either, just a bit of 'park/ramp carving and small jumps.

best place is to get stuff from is flatlandfuel.com. pat always sends stuff quickly and i've never been caught with customs as he marks everything so it doesn't get caught.

only places i know in england that sell flatland parts at the moment is either billys.co.uk that do a range of khe stuff or edwards in london.

billys would be good for a complete beginners flatland bike without the hefty price tag of custom building.

flatland stems are usually a shorter reach than most, something like 35mm would be good. try looking at the suelo stem, khe, kgb, odyssey flatware.

No, i thought about it, but they have a reputation for breaking.

In fact, all KHE flatland stuff has a reputation for breaking LOL

Im building my 88 master into a more flatland orientated freestyle bike. Just a little light park (no jumps) and a bit of flatland.

Just learning the basics at the moment though.

I registered on 'global flat' forum but im not keen on the atmosphere/attitude on there.

Doesnt seem to be many flatlanders on rad?

i've got KHE parts on my bike and have no problems with them. it's probably the new crop of 3.2lb frames that are likely to be cracking more than most. i doubt you'll have problems with older frames like the militant or equilibrium.

just had a look at global meself, very dissapointing, reminded me of the slagging and infighting by know it all teenage spot covered septics at bikeguide, even streetphire is like it now. best place is here!

I registered on global a week or so ago. Introduced myself and my bike, asked a couple of questions etc.
All i got was 'get a decent bike' etc etc.

Ok, my 88 master isnt exactly up to date, but its not that bad! I like the frame, its got sentimental merit to me. I want to build a nice bike around my haro frame. They just cant understand that though.

Anyhow, the old masters were/are legendary flatland/freestyle bikes!!

For those of you that may know, how do you 'half hydrant' into forkglide while carrying enough speed to keep momentum? Use the front brake just before the wheel hits 90 degree with the frame as if doing trackstands but just cary on round, or just comit and go for it no brake?

They just dont like the fact i havent got the newest stuff and a bike less than 18lb, not that the haro is heavy

better off on here fella, mild piss taking as opposed to downright nasty.
try dabbing your brake to start with ( feathering) you can probaly learn it with out using your brake once youve got it wired.
