Tony,

Early rippers used a seat tube to suit a 13/16" seat post (20.6mm).

Steve (Generallee) had an anodised blue seatpost to suit, on sale recently, or I have some 13/16" solid aluminium bar which a few of the guys on here have used as seatposts in the past. Polishes up nicely.

If your ripper is a straight rear stay frame with a built in seatclamp (85 onwards) the seatpost is 22.2mm standard old school size

The looptail rippers (pre 85) are 13/16"

The seatclamp may have been overtightened at some stage and might need prizing open slightly... be careful!

Hope this helps...  :daumenhoch:
