Where did you learn that from?   :LolLolLolLol:

The bike doesn't sit in a natural angle in those brackets, the front end dips right down depending on how extreme the angle is on your top tube. So another tip is, when you cut them you need to re-drill the hole to replace the rivet with a bolt. Cover the hanging bracket bit where you need to drill in masking tape. Place the bike on the floor and place the braket in place on the frame so it sits in the wall mount bit at the bikes correct angle. Poke a pen through the holes to mark where you need to drill. Then when you bolt it all together the bike is in its natural  position. It'll all make sense if you had it in front of you and you chop it up.

put bracket at height you want it, mount with one bolt to wall, hang bike on, adjust til looks right, hoy in last screw, can't go wrong :daumenhoch: get some short stretchy tie things to attach to the bracket n ya bike to pull the bottom end towards the wall

i think this is where i got em from, http://www.bikecare.co.uk/acc/cyclestands.html , they are very similar to the halfords ones and were the same price when i got em but a couple of quid more now, not sure about halfords ones, but these have a soft foam over the hooks  :daumenhoch:

I've run out of space for stuff now so wall hanging seemed a good idea. Trouble is the walls upstairs in my place are't very strong so I ended up putting hooks in the joists and hung them up from them.
I can get some more junk in my computer room now !

Mines hung on pasterboards walls,i sawed about 4-5"off the bar so it sits closer to the wall and drilled an extra hole on the bracket just to be on the save side and 3 weeks later it's hasn't moved.

It probably would have been ok to do it like you say. I've got whats best described as plasterboard covered straw walls !
Hope we never get any mice.  ;)
