I have ended up with this Standard frame ... it's an STA Ox Platinum from about 5 years ago I think - the previous owner had it since new, I remember him buying it! It has been WELL ridden - cut down dropouts, dent or two or three in the top tube, downtube ... paint knackered... but thought it may be of use to someone on here? Restore it? Hang it up with loads of other standard frames? anyway - not really sure if its worth anything - so please pm me with anything you may want to swap for it - or a price you may think itll go for , dont be shy - I want rid and you may want it!

Would it be 21" tt, I have a some bits and frames etc you might want to swap for it maybe? I do have an STA, but the lugs have been cut and its not an OX.

If i get time I will! Though Im not sure it will as the dropouts have been cut down!
I remember it being an Ox as he bought it from Mason at custom riders , and we were amazed he got a frame that was so expensive - we were all on ratty old dirtbikes!

check the serial on the bb steve,is that the frame that i think it is,and did he get his knee repaired after our last cornwall trip.

i thought i recognised that bad boy

he did mention he wanted a new frame as he had ridden every pennys worth from it
glad ross has got his knee sorted ,when he landed my guts churned as i stood beside him as he landed

i knew it had gone on impact

yep, it was nasty... he hasnt ridden for 3 months now and has about another months to go - though he couldnt resist manual rolling his new Federal Hamilton yesterday!
this STA has been loved - what a great frame, though bloody heavy compared to what he now has!!!!!!!

and my god has that one been ridden!

i love to see frames like that, testiment to the strength and quality of these frames.

Wonder how many people have actually snaped an STA, must be a rare club to be in.

Ive seen skyways & mongooses go clean in two, but never an STA.

I agree Phil, such a shame to see them hacked like that. What a frame - feels like 6lb of pure muscle!

Old dropouts were so so long (not just Standard, everyones!). I used to put my pegs on, draw round them, take the wheel off and cut the dropout right back to the drawn line.

The early Standard frames had loads of dropout below the peg as well. I bet you could get 4 new droputs out of one early standard one!

I got back today & it had turned up, still a hell of a solid frame considering the beating it's had! Going to trim the drops better, bit like the Bullitt. Strip it, Satin Black it & build it up with some odd bits n bobs I've got laying about
