crank/pedal dopey 1st build question!
« on: August 08, 2009, 08:46 PM »
Im on my 1st build. Building the one bike I wanted. 85 haro master, jubbly,
Ive been building parts up slowly for a couple of months now, been adding them as I go, but I would like to ask a daft question....I have redline flight cranks that I believe are the new ones, I have bought some Victor beartrap pedals but they slip inside the thread of the crank arms. I have heard the expression Half inch (no jokes!),is that what I need? these dont fit so can I get hold of mks white pedals in the corect diameter? and would that be a good choice?
Ohhh im in right pedal muddle me mind!  :)

:) You`re right. For a 3 piece crank you`ll need 9/16 thread pedals.1/2 inch are for 1 piece cranks and will "slip" and fall off.

What do you think would be a good pedal for a white build?? I was thinking Shimano SX maybe in white?? its for a rider, or mks graphites in white?

What would you put on?

cheers :)

mks graphites are likes hen's teeth, be prepared to pay major funds for them... Shimano SX are good, as far as i know you could never get them in white but it doesnt mean you cant get them pwdercoated or painted yourself... they strip down easy enough.

I have a 85 master wearing its original paint and decals, has a few knocks and scratches and building as a rider. it seems that everything is white (white zeds, white forklifter, white crank, white kashi etc) so seems that I have to carry on the white theme. im gonna have the haro freestyle bars I have powdered so I guess I will powder some pedals and the same time?? shimano sx? I would like the dx but dont seem worth it for a rider/pub cruiser--whats reckon?

maybe just a little colour ,pick one from the decals.
Then maybe the pedals and grips the same

Not really a fan of all white they tend to look a bit albino

There you go red pedals and grips to complete the albino look  :2funny:

All the best with it dude

KHE stimulatorz are the same as MKS graphites.

you can get them at, http://www.winstanleysbmx.com/product/6441/KHE_Stimulatorz_Flatland_Pedals

I have a set on new redline flights and they are super ;)
