Can anyone identify this Mongoose?

I was given this bmx this morning and wondered whether what it was and whether it was worth restoring. My guess is that it's a mid 1990's non-descript shighter but I thought I'd just double check...

Imagine my disappointment when an old guy I work with told me his son used to race BMX's and had a "Mongoose or something" which he'd let me have. I was expecting a mint Supergoose but could hardly tell him to shove this POS after he'd brought in especially.
