Here's another question for you all.

I never rode in the 90s and deserted the sport when it became unfashionable/I got bored/i learnt to drive/my friends gave up/i went to college/other reason [ delete as applicable]. I recently started to build old school bikes, but have discovered that mid school bikes are in fact nicer, better looking and  not so expensive to build, so mid school is now my favourite era to build, even though it actually means nothing to me.
What frame/forks/bars/headset/grips/levers/brakes/tyres/wheels/cranks/pedals/chainring/seat/post/clamp/ were poplular in 1990-1999?

:LolLolLolLol:maybe some of us midschoolers who didnt ride in the 80's should start building oldschool bikes and flood the oldschool section with posts about what parts to use :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:

or we could just have a mid school section that never get's any posts.

has it occurred to anyone that these people know what's about, know what they want, but just want some input off other riders.

let's face it, if shimano still made the original style DX, maybe updated with sealed bearing, there would be no need for any other pedal, but it's still worth a discussion.

but the good thing about midschool, you can use whatever parts you can get your hands on, cos that's what happened in the 90s right?

just stuck a modern Kenda tyre on my 95 holmes, rides nice, who cares how it looks, and i got a right hand tech 77 on the left side, but the brake still works.

i love it.

as for the "gave up riding blah blah blah" stuff. if you give up w4nking and come back to it, it's still fokking great and you are still a w4nker, so why should bmx be any different?

cheers Dan, although i was kinda messing with you.....i have a NOS set of fusion kneesavers, a Fusion stem and a nice set of GT Profiles arriving tomorrow  :daumenhoch:

as for brakes?  i have to admit to not keeping era correct and i've gone down the Oddy Evo II route with matching levers.....then for wheels i'm going for a set of brand new jobbies with Oddy tan walls as i want to ride this  :daumenhoch:

i apologise to the era correct police  ;D
