A few months ago I had a bike modded by having a platform added, the result is here:
http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=88020.msg880825#msg880825Everyone goes on aboout how heavy the 2006 Haro Sports are, but I used to ride an old Standard Lenghty with fat alex rims and profile ss cranks weighing about 45lbs, I didnt think they were too bad, weighing in at 36lbs!!
Now I have the one I really wanted.
Using what I learned from the first effort, I took my Fly Mosca and decided to platform it.
Before...
I got 2 chromo layback seatpost off the bay and cut them to size, I made 2 supports for the rear and ground them to fit.
I took it to Specialist welding on the Newburn ind est, (0191 267 0032 ask for Neale,) and they did a great job, much much better than the last company, Neale really knows his stuff, and is really helpful. One of the tubes is a bit off but i think thats down more to my sizing than the welding....
Then off to AMD as usual for the powdercoat, (0191 487 5758, ask for Paul)
I've used them 5 times now and have always done a fantastic job. The sport they did for me has been ridden for a year and the coating is not scratched!
I didnt think they could improve on their earlier work but i was amazed when i picked up my bits. The quality is amazing and I love the colour....
I got a brand new haro freecoaster off the bay, once I modded it to make it work, I took it to Dentons cycles (259 Scotswood Rd Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 7AW - 0191 272 3386)
for the build. Great service and a really great price!
So then I had to build it, inbetween work and kip. It went togther really easily and I'm well chuffed with the results...
Stodgy at the Radshop sorted me out a lush new Primo 330mm pivotal post and seat as well as the cranks, pedals, grips, levers, spanish bb, and the amazing clear pads.
Many thanks Stodge!
The new Primo pivotal seatpost!
