I posted a thread on my supergoose 2 MK race bike build on vintage and added some pictures of me racing it on sunday at MK and he sent me this PM :

Hi there,

Sorry I don't know your name, wish I did...

I enjoyed your post about your 1982 supergoose. Reading your comments, your
parts breakdown, viewing your pictures, well, very special, the race pictures
are to die for, thank you.

Your custom mongoose decals are sweet, put some aside for me, very nice :-)

Your outright enthusiasm brings back memories for me of an innocent time
and age in the 70's & 80's when I traveled throughout Europe for
B.M.X. Products, Inc., Mongoose.

I distinctly remember traveling to the UK in the 70's for a number of
reasons. Skip Hess and I wanted to help Malcolm Jarvis (importer of
mongoose) get Malcolm's company Ammaco up and going. I remember building
a BMX track for Malcolm on his property in Tenterden, Kent, and showing Don
Smith what BMX was all about. It was so much fun promoting the sport,
designing & building tracks from Kent, to Leeds, to Scotland.

Everyone I met was so kind to me, and so enthusiastic, great people...

Please tell your friends, and everyone at the RADBMX.CO.UK annual UK old
school BMX event I said hello and wish them the best.

It would be nice to see some pictures of your goose flock.

I thought this might be fun for you to look at, as it covers a brief glimpse
of my BMX career:

Got to be happy with that reply though.
One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

Wicked. Thats what its all about! :4_17_5: :4_17_5: :4_17_5:

I liked that Mongoose that Oakley designed with the huge head tube. They look mad but are real late 70's stuff.

Holy crap, a 21" TT bike back in the late 70's (look at the rear drop-outs!). Form an orderly queue to give your left testicle for a go round a track on that frame - just wow! :coolsmiley: :coolsmiley:

John, that's fookin class bud. Put a link up for the post and get back to him to tell him there were 2 other pre-1983 'gooses in your race (both Hootski's as Kendo was riding one) and another in my race (mine!) mate. It was just class to see these old bikes getting a trip round a track after probably 20-odd years gathering dust - admittedly we didn't get anywhere near the speed the good riders got up to, but hell, it was great to use them for what they were designed and built for after all these years...... :smitten:

I'll be in touch about picking your 'goose up for a coat of white later fella :LolLolLolLol:
