S & M challenger info needed pleaseeeeeeee
« on: July 23, 2009, 05:20 PM »
after riding my ole challenger hard for a few years and it getting knocked about i was thinking of maybe restoring it as i dont really ride much any more.
not being really clued in with these bikes/frames was wondering what forks /parts would be good for it. its got sunnlite race forks on at the minute but was thinking would pitch forks be around the same age.
any help would be good.
also what colours did they come in.

Ah, nice. So its a later one then.

Def pitchforks would be fine. They also did lighter "race" forks, but some people used pitch cos they were stonger.

Redneck or challenger/S&M Race stem and some slam bars or race bars (Current ones aint that much different).

Other than that, its open to whatever you like the look of  :daumenhoch:

I think Challengers came with Seat stay Canti's OR Chain stay U-brakes for the whole time they were out. I have got a 1" mk1 Challenger frame that has a BB U-brake, and I when got one like yours in the late 90s, both were still avalable.

I heard somewhere that it was Neal Wood who requested BB U-brakes on challengers, so that makes them a nice UK model
