I did show anything this year but my plan is certainly to show 4 or maybe 5 Haro's of mine. What anal stuff have you done to ensure yours is tip top condition? Have you polished seat guts? Tiny parts of your brakes? Bolts etc..? or do you hold out for mintola stuff to save all that hassle. I'd be interested to know...

Matt  ;)

Didn't polish seat guts yet, but numerous brake bolts/nuts even BB and cups a few times...
Not for the maximum bling but for the good clean/smooth effect.

how sad are we sometimes  :2funny:

My DeCoster placed 2nd last year at MK08 in the Vintage category, over the year I changed every part except for the Frame, rims and stem.

The frame though was totally overhauled and given a new paint job.  The rims were sanded down by me over 2 days to remove all scratches with different grades of wet & dry, it was then painstakenly buffed to a mirror shine with my bench polisher.  The stem was also overhauled to make it look better.

All of the new parts were stripped and polished to make them bling.

I also researched parts like mad to ensure that every part on the bike was from 1977.  Even down to taking about 2 weeks to decide what colour brake cable to go on it.

The result?  Placed 2nd again  ;D  but won the Admin Bike of the Show award.
