hey jimmywhen ya get a minute measure the rider area on the rupe and pro class,,,,fromm centre of bb to middle of the steerer tube at the topyou will probs find there very close even though it has an extra inch on top tube but that looks to me like a more relaxed seat post angle go on try it russ
Would there be a big big biff between the Eric Rupe 1984 and cali ? AtariAger ,just asking as new to all this
Just a thought but taking into acount what russ has said. Was the reason for the brake bridge design to make sure the calliper sat in the right position, after relaxing the seatpost angle? If this is right then the reason for the position changeing could have been to do with different callipers coming on the market at the time. Wasn't the mid-late 80's when the mx1000 design was replaced?
I love trying to figure out the why's . Mongoose seem to be pretty good at putting your brain into meltdown though

Top tube is just abit longer to give the rider abit more room.
