NEW Hutch cranks
« on: June 22, 2009, 01:22 PM »
So here are some pics from Hutch's display at Rockford.   Apparently $600 for the new cranks, I dont know if that includes BB and disk.  It does include a titanium 48 spinled spindle

Ill update when I know more.

I do like the looks of these but have to agree that $600 is a bit of stretch - we'll have to see when they go an sale...

Both sets look nice but are at least $200-$300 overpriced.  Maybe worth it for people who want to finish off Hutch show bike builds with authentic looking parts, but otherwise I'd stick to DXR, Profiles, Flights, etc.

From JDB:

The crank prices are just estimates yet, till i know what the maximum profit i can make is. The Arse0speeds and Box cranks would be packaged as a complete rip off, with Disc or spider and BB's in your dodgy choice of style and colors. The Box cranks will include the standard steel spindle and bolts, and I am considering offering the Aerospeeds only with Ti spindle and bolts as i can squeeze a few more quid out of you mugs. That's the pants-down difference between $600 and $450.

Based on the made up list pricing for vintage Hutch cranks, the $500 to $600 is in-line with what you suckers will pay (adjusted for inflation/shafting), so I am RIGHT in there. The difference being that I'd like to you up the arse and make a few bob while they're sought after, which Hutch did BITD. It will be a badly made product as you idiots dont even ride your bikes, and still in-line with arse-out pricing. my habit is expensive, and I would gain extra profit by offering them that way...but I want to offer a product that fits the legendary price status of the originals,
even if it isnt the same as the originals.

sign me up :LolLolLolLol:

he's a cash in wánker of the highest order. 100 quid cranks with profit for maker and retailer just like anybody else who makes/sells cranks. if you pay him that your a mug. If you put them on an old school showbike your a mug and a fool.

what would you do with it?

Use it as a shower curtain
Use it as a cape when I do supermen
Make a rain coat out of it
Use it as welcome mat outside my house
Sleep on or under it at MK
Cut it up and make a really huge frame pad

If you have any left Glen can I have a Hutch Shower Cap?

Yea of course, ive got some left over - its NOS though so it aint cheap!   :LolLolLolLol:
but for you, you can have it for free  :4_17_5:

:4_17_5: Top Man I'll PM you the circumference of my Swede ;D
On the crank subject I love the look of the old aerospeeds and they have sorta been the holy grail since I got back into BMX a while back and my dream was to do a us trickstar with a real set on...that aint going to happen unless the arse end falls out of BMX and they are going alot cheaper  :-\
I think if someone is doing a good hutch build on a budget and buys the repops I have no problem with that as they look very sexy indeed..but even at $600 plus shipping and import tax I would rather spend that type of cash on a torker haro frameset or somethin'. :)

Those new Aerospeed arms look great.  Be good for a rider if they're less fragile than the originals and weren't so bloody overpriced.
