Odyssey London Mod Yes or No
« on: June 18, 2009, 09:33 PM »
My son Harrison has a gyro on his bike and the brake is crap. I've put a Odyssey Modulever on and a Snafu Mobeus. Got a Evo 2 brake on it's way from Pickle, Is it worth converting to a twin cable set-up when I fit the Evo 2.
I know it probably needs setting up right but I've had a bit of a play with it and it's still crap. Anyone got any advice?
Gary

No reason why your setup should be bad dude, defo go with the brake bastard (london mod) as 2 is better than one eh ;) When setting up a dual lower make sure the mobeus is sitting on top of the lower tabs by screwing out the cable adjusters until it sits flush to give you the maximum amount of travel in the gyro setup. Fit the top cable & dial in once all the lower half is provisionally set up. What brake/rim is he currently using Gary?

Pads are clear ones, caliper is just bog standard with bike as is the rim. Although most of the black has now worn away.

IMO its well worth using the london mod if your using a dual cable lever as it gives you dual cables from the lever to the brake, if your using only a dual upper or lower there's still a single cable section somewhere in the set up.
