Can you rub down chrome?
« on: June 14, 2009, 06:42 PM »
Hi

My chrome crank has some scuff marks.  I want to rub it down to get rid of them, and to hopefully take away the chrome shine, giving it more of a matt and dull worked metal look - can you do that, and if you can, what should I use?

Thanks

You can but you will probably still be doing it this time next year  :LolLolLolLol:

Joking aside you can flat it with 800/400's wet and dry paper and that should remove the shine and pitting , if its pretty smooth just use finer paper 1000/1200's wet and dry and that will take the sheen off.

Alternatively i would BLAST it  :2gunsfiring_v1:  and then get it painted or powdered  :daumenhoch:

Just my opinions and i aint no expert so maybe wait for some of the Restoration experts on here to respond  ;)
