I'm a bit partial to chrome rails, but looks like you made the right decision painting them, at least it looks clean now

Did you use a bit of foam before the covering? It looks like a "light padded" one compared to the originals (and I'm quite partial for those too

)

Thanks Arnaud ... it's definitely ready for another SE build which I'm hoping to complete soon

As for the rails ... I'd have had them rechromed if they were easy to remove

there's no padding used here either ... just a decent grade leather which is quite thick on its own !!
