R these 1 piece cranks old school enough...?
« on: June 01, 2009, 01:09 PM »
Looking to replace a Diamondback reactor 1 piece crank with something old school.

Is the Haro Fusion 1 piece or Odyssey Excaliber 1 piece old school and are they worth £20 each NOS?

Or are there any alterntives that can be suggested that would be around the £20 mark?

Got my eye on a GT 1 piece on fleaBay but not sure if it's any good   :-\

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=220424919436

Ideally I'd like to match my Sugino Spider's and Chainwheels with a Sugino 1 piece but just don't want to spend that sort of money i.e. £30 +, and not when I'm after 2 cranks...

Thanx for any help/advice/suggetsions

Rgds

Not sure if I know what the 28tpi is all about. I have a US frame with a Diamond Back 1 piece crank and a YST seald BB (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/YST-SEALED-bottom-bracket-set-for-1-piece-cranks-NOS_W0QQitemZ190281622220QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCycling_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2c4dab22cc&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177) :-[

The 28TPI refers to the Number of Threads per Inch on the cranks, they come in two thread sizes, 24TPI (probably what you have) and 28TPI which more common on Mongoose bikes for some reason  :daumenhoch:.
