Haro Race Bike
« on: May 26, 2009, 11:25 AM »
Hi all, just finished building a 1991 Haro Group1 race bike, that I hope to race in the old school series.

Let me know what you think of her.

Thanks to JT Smooth and Mark at Retrospect for parts and info.

How she started:

And after some TLC.

Thanks for the comments.

TBH im not sure what they are, they are the original bars that were on the Bike when I found it, it has just been sat in an old shed for the last 15 years or so.

I just assumed they were Haro bars that came on the Group 1's back then, they are nice and wide.

Hi, the TT on this bike is 20.5 inches, which for me at 5'10" is about right. I put the fusion stem which gave me another half an inch on the total length.
The 180mm fusion crank also gives plenty of leg room to get the power down.

It rides nice and smooth, im used to a cruiser so have been finding it light when manualing over tabletops and am having to use the back brake to stop me falling off the back  :crazy2:,  just practice I guess.

These bikes are a great all rounder, and tend to get overlooked by the purists, but frankly I think they are pretty damn good  :daumenhoch:

It must be the same frame as my white one if its 20.5".

It looks nice built up!!  :daumenhoch:

But I'd change the seat to a haro one though!!  :)

I think it is the same as yours Moley - how do you find it to ride? got a Haro seat on its way from Ray (Worldwide)  ;)

That is the very plate that was on ebay a few weeks ago  ;)  ;) Got it for £7ish, not the most attractive plate but just wanted something simple with clean lines.
